“Classic” Apple & Appenzeller Cheese Crumble
~ Serves 4
Ingredients
3-4 of your favourite apples
2 TBSP raisins (I use more!)
2 TBSP chopped walnuts
2 tsp apple juice
100 g grated Appenzeller® CLASSIC cheese
4 tsp brown sugar
¼ cup butter
¾ cup flour
Preparation and cooking:
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Peel the apples and cut into slices.
Place them into a greased soufflé or casserole dish.
Add the apple juice, raisins and walnuts
In a bowl mix the remaining ingredients together, rub into crumble and spread over the apples
Bake for approx. 30 minutes.
This dish tastes best when lukewarm.
Pair:
With fresh berries, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or yoghurt.
