Cheese Tea Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 4 cups all
purpose flour
- 4 Tsp Baking
Powder
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 2 Tsp Salt
- 1 cup shredded (COLD) butter
- 200 grams shredded 2 or 3 year old
cheddar
- 2 cups (COLD)
milk
Preparation and Cooking:
- Preheat the oven to 425ºF
- Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt to a bowl
- Whisk/mix dry ingredients
- Add butter, cheese, and mix
- Add milk and mix your ingredients into a dough
- Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to an
approximately ½ inch thickness
- Fold one side onto the other (results in 3 layers)
- Roll and fold again 2 more times (helps create fluffy
layers)
- Roll once more and cut into approximately 2 inch squares
- Place on baking sheet (on parchment paper if you have it)
- Brush with milk
- Bake for 17-20 minutes
Serve
warm with butter, preserves or cheese!
They
are great cold, but nothing beats oven fresh!Enjoy!
