Vacherin Mont D’Or baked with Honey and Garlic
Saw this recipe and shamelessly published it, as if it were my creation!
Ingredients:
- 1 Vacherin Mont D’Or
- 2 garlic cloves,
peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tsp of drizzling honey
Preparation
and Cooking:
- Preheat the oven to 375ºF
- Wrap the
container of cheese securely in foil, making sure to enclose it so the foil
goes up to the top of the outside of the container, but leave the top exposed.
- Set
the wrapped cheese on a baking sheet.
- Poke eight-to-ten
slits in the top of the cheese with a paring knife and slide the slivers of
fresh garlic in them.
- Drizzle with plus or minus 1 tsp honey
depending on how sweet you think you will want it.
- Put the lid on and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the lid and cook for another 5-8
minutes until the top is caramelized.
- Remove from the oven, replace the lid and
let cool for approx 5 minutes until scoopable.
- Serve with bread, boiled potatoes, cold
meat, sliced vegetables, basically whatever goes well with cheese.
Enjoy this tasty treat!
