Vacherin Mont d’Or with Sliced Baguette and Pear

Ingredients:

  • 1 round Vacherin Mont d”Or
  • 2 cloves garlic or equivalent
  • ½ c Dry white wine
  • Aluminum Foil
  • 1 warm baguette thinly sliced
  • 1-2 pears thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Preparation and Cooking:

Preheat your oven to 350°F

  • To avoid burning and spills, wrap the outside of the wooden box in aluminum foil
  • Pierce the top of the cheese and place garlic slivers in the holes
  • Pour the wine over the cheese
  • Bake until smooth and slightly runny (about 15 minutes)
  • Gently pan fry the pear slices in the butter, just until softened and warmed
  • Individually plate the baguette slices
  • Spoon the warm cheese onto the baguettes
  • Place pear slices on top and serve immediately
  • Repeat until gone!!
