Easy Peasy Baked Brie
(This recipe was graciously provided by Laurie, the Cheese Wo-Man!)
How many it serves is hard to say but comfortably 4 and up to eight!!
Note: you need a brie baker or a small ovenproof dish or it is not easy peasy it is just a melted mess!
Ingredients
1 jar of either Caramelized Onion Confit or Red Pepper Jelly (both are available at the Cheese Shop)
1 – 300g piece Triple Cream Brie (available at the Cheese Shop)
Crackers or baguettes for dipping (big surprise, also available at the Cheese Shop)
Preparation and cooking:
Baked Brie:
Preheat your oven to 350ºF
Slice Brie in half horizontally
Place half in the baker bloom side down
Place 3 table spoons of the confit or jelly on the brie
Place the 2nd half of the brie on top, cut side up
Bake with the top of the brie-baker off until the cheese is slightly melted (not too runny but not too firm). This might require you doing a few taste tests!! But blow it cool before testing!
Baguette (available at the shop):
Preheat your oven to 375ºF
Bake for 3-5 minutes until they are crunchy on the outside and hot and steamy on the inside!
Note: I also bake these on the upper rack of my BBQ or on the lower section on a piece of foil, but not over direct heat!
Crackers (available at the shop):
Open package and serve.
It doesn’t get any easier than that!
Pair:
You may want to try pairing a Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc or Prosecco!!
