Zip Lock Omelets

Zip Lock Omelets
~(This recipe was graciously provided by Penny, a Cheese Man Customer!)
How many it serves is up to you, and will depend on how many zip locks you have on hand!!

Ingredients
2 Eggs per Zip Lock
Cheese – the sky is the limit when you are visiting the Cheese Shop or simply grab whatever is hiding in your fridge or cooler!
Your choice of chopped green or dried onions, ham, cooked bacon, red &/or green peppers, chopped mushrooms etc.
Red or Green Salsa (optional)
1 or more par-baked baguettes (Farmers Style, Brioche, 9 grain all available at the shop)
Salt and Pepper to taste (I go heavy on the pepper)
1 or more permanent Sharpie(s) pen

Preparation and cooking:
Omelette:
Boil water in a pot large enough to contain your bags.

In Zip Lock bag put two whisked or slightly beaten eggs.

Then add anything you want form the list above: Cheese, green or dried onions, chopped ham, chopped red or green peppers, etc.

Seal bag with no air inside.

Add to a pot of boiling water and cook for 15 minutes.

To prevent any discussion or unintentional theft of your personal creation, write your name on your bags with a permanent Sharpie pen!

When the omelettes are finished cooking, they just slide out of the bag onto your plate.

Baguette:
Preheat your oven to 375ºF

Bake for 3-5 minutes until they are crunchy on the outside and hot and steamy on the inside!

Note: I also bake these on the upper rack of my BBQ or on the lower section on a piece of foil, but not over direct heat!

It doesn’t get any easier than that!

Pair:
Assuming you are not averse to having a beverage in the wee hours of the morning, you may want to try a Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, or Chenin Blanc with your eggs!! You can always add orange juice to Champagne for added Vitamin C.
