Steak Bites with Herb and Garlic Cream Cheese
~ The herb and garlic cream cheese accentuates the flavour of the steak.


Ingredients:
1 pkg organic cream cheese (available at the shop)
1 pound beef tenderloin steaks, 1 1/2 to 2-inches thick
3 tablespoons grainy Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary or thyme
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse ground pepper
1 clove garlic or the equivalent in jarred crushed garlic
24 baguette slices


Preparation and Cooking:
Heat BBQ to medium-high heat


In small bowl mix cream cheese, mustard, herbs, pepper and crushed garlic


Sear steaks over medium-high heat about 2 minutes each side.


Spread the half the mixture onto the baguette slices


Thinly spread remaining on top and sides of steaks.


Cook for approximately 8 minutes until rare, med-rare, med etc. Steaks will continue to cook while standing so don’t over cook.


Remove from BBQ and let stand 5 minutes.


Thinly slice on the diagonal and place on baguette slices, dividing equally.
