Chaumes Le Cremier Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp grape seed oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 sweet onion, sliced
- 3 portobello mushrooms, sliced into small chunks
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- Four slices of your favourite bread
- 1 piece Chaumes Le Cremier
Preparation and Cooking:
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onions and sauté them for 10 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms.
- Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes or until the mushrooms are golden brown and the onions are caramelized and tender.
- Add the minced garlic to the frying pan and stir for approximately 1 minute.
- Remove contents from the pan and set aside.
- Place ½ of the Chaumes Le Cremier on the non-butter side of two of the bread pieces.
- Top the cheese with the onions and mushrooms mixture then place the other pieces of bread on top.
- Grill the sandwiches on medium-low until each side of the bread turns a crispy golden brown.
