Chaumes Le Cremier Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp grape seed oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 sweet onion, sliced
  • 3 portobello mushrooms, sliced into small chunks
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • Four slices of your favourite bread
  • 1 piece Chaumes Le Cremier

Preparation and Cooking:

  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. 
  • Add the onions and sauté them for 10 minutes. 
  • Add the mushrooms.
  • Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes or until the mushrooms are golden brown and the onions are caramelized and tender. 
  • Add the minced garlic to the frying pan and stir for approximately 1 minute. 
  • Remove contents from the pan and set aside.
  • Place ½ of the Chaumes Le Cremier on the non-butter side of two of the bread pieces.
  • Top the cheese with the onions and mushrooms mixture then place the other pieces of bread on top.
  • Grill the sandwiches on medium-low until each side of the bread turns a crispy golden brown.
